MEDIA support for CineFest Hungary

Good news in difficult economic times: MEDIA Program of the European Union supports the 6th edition of CineFest Miskolc, one of Central Europe's finest film festivals, with 25,000 euro. The event, as MEDIA Desk representative says, is an 'an enjoyable and stimulating festival' for both local and international participants, mirroring the cultural diversity and richness of the region and the world cinema.

The Miskolc festival focuses on works of young directors under 35, and, with an interesting paralellity, contrasts it with gigants of world cinema, who went to Hollywood from Hungary. In September 2009 CineFest organizes a great conference in honour of Oscar winner British scriptwriter Emeric Pressburger, who was born in Miskolc in 1902.

CineFest concerts and the original movie parties are legendary. The festival in Northern Hungary welcomes every film fan in September 11-20!
