The Cave Bath and Spa of Miskolc-Tapolca is a unique tourist attraction not only in Hungarian terms, but also in European means. Only Orlando in Florida has something similar to it, although that cave bath is constructed artificially, meanwhile the bath of Miskolc-Tapolca is a natural formation. Its spring water with a temperature of 30°C is flowing in cave passages, a truly unique experience!
Cinefest tracking tour
We just can't miss in this year our fabulous tracking tour in the Bükk mountain also.
Departure and arrival with the narrow gauge railway to Lillafüred in the Bükk mountains, approx. 2 hours walking/hiking, along the beauties of Lillafüred, Felsőhámor, and conquering the surrounding hills with breathtaking sights to the Castle Hotel, walking back by the Lake Hámori, and finally tasting delicious trout or some cold beers.
Meeting point at Festival center at 8:15 am on 16th Sept. Taking tram out of the city then LÁÉV narrow-gauge railway at 9:15 (Approx. 30 min. travelling)
The narrow-gauge line from Miskolc to Lillafured was originally built as a forestry railway in 1919/20 and passenger services started in 1923. It's just half an hour from Miskolc to Lillafured, a delightful ride through wooded hillsides.
- Lillafüred - Hanging garden - Felsőhámor, where we take a short brake in a lovely café. (Fresh strudels, ice cream etc)
- Felsőhámor - Dolka Ridge (picturesque view) - Szeleta Cave.
- Szeleta Cave - Szeleta Top - Lencsés spring (fresh springwater) - Walkway by Lake Hámori - Lillafüred. Small restaurant for eating and drinking.
Departure back at 13:05, arrival to the city about 14:00.
The hiking is about 7 km long, (approx. 2 hours) adequate shoe is suggested, elevation is about 200 m. Smashing landscape, wonderful scene, cheerful time is guaranteed.

A walking tour in the inner city of Miskolc, visit to the National Theatre of Miskolc

In August 24th, 1823 the first stone theatre of Hungary was opened. It was built from the donations of the citizens of Miskolc and some generous noble men, without any government support. That building was so seriously damaged in the biggest fire of the history of Miskolc in 1843 that it could not be renovated. In 1857 a new theater building was constructed based on József Cassano's designs. It is a unique building among the other classicist buildings of Miskolc. During the decades it was renovated several times, most recently between 1990 and 1997. In the Fall of 1996 in the same block in Déryné street the Museum of Theatre and Acting has opened its gates for visitors. Its exhibitions show the history of the theatrical traditions, paying respect to those great figures of theatre life who had a connection to Miskolc and also photographs and historic documents talking about the history of the building itself. The theatrical complex includes a Grand Theatre with 700 seats, a Chamber Theatre of 300 seats a Small Room of 100 seats and an Open Air Theatre with 500 available seats. The complex is suitable for international festivals, such as the Bartók+ International Opera Festival that attracts music lovers from all over the world.
Visit to Ricse, the birthplace of Adolf Czukor

Ricse: Small village at the right bank of the Tisza river in the Bodrogköz region. The village itself was founded during the Settlement of the Magyars in Hungary. Adolf Czukor, one of the founders of Hollywood, was born here. The village proudly preserves his memory.
