ELTÁNCOLOM MI A PÁLYA

2021 / HUNGARY / 65 min

Every year, CineFest Miskolc helps a talented student of the University of Miskolc’s Department of Cultural and Visual Anthropology to realize his/her film in the form of a scholarship. In 2020, our grantee was Stella Szakonyi, but her film Dancing on the Track’s premiere had to be postponed to 2021 due to the pandemic situation of 2020. Dancing on the Track is a motivational documentary featuring two talented and successful young athletes: runner Csaba Kiss and dancer Evelin Bukovics. Based on anthropological fieldwork, the film is composed of interviews, music clips and dynamic sequences of visual elements and images. During the recorded conversations we hear about outstanding results, turning points and difficulties that are inherent in doing sports. The main goal of the CineFest grantee is to present
the two athletes to the society as creditable examples and potential role models. The director wants to highlight the importance of having a purpose and the determination to pursue it. In addition, the film also wishes to reveal the role of motivation and flow in our lives.
