Heart of Oak

Le chêne / 2022 / France / 80 min

In Laurent Charbonnier and Michel Seydoux's big-screen nature film, we are given a glimpse into the complex and vibrant life of an oak tree. The tallest and most majestic tree in the forest, the oak’s graceful appearance conveys strength and security. Its trunk is home to squirrels and beetles, birds rest on its branches, mice and mushrooms linger at its roots. Its nut provides food, and its fallen leaves serve as bed for passing wild boars, hedgehogs, and foxes. Heart of Oak follows the giant tree's changes over the course of several seasons, reminding us of the
magnificent presence of nature.
