The documentary ‘Riefenstahl’ provides an insight into Leni Riefenstahl's artistic legacy and her complex relationship with the Nazi regime. Alongside the director's self-portrait, we see the evidence suggesting that she knew all about the workings of the regime and the crimes it committed. Andres Veiel was given unprecedented access to Leni Riefenstahl's personal archive of 700 boxes of footage and has used the material to create a more complex portrait of the controversial filmmaker than ever before.
