In a village in a remote Xinjiang valley, lonely Kazakh boy Arsin finds solace in plants until Meiyu, a Han Chinese girl arrives, bringing comfort and wonder. They grow together, imagining their valley as an endless ocean. When Arsin learns Meiyu will move 4,792 kilometers away to Shanghai—where real oceans exist—he must face the quiet shifts in their fragile world. The film comes from the 2025 Panorama program of the Shanghai International Film Festival.
