Irene Silvera Frischknecht is a film programmer, consultant, and a certified trainer specializing in Equity, Diversity and Inclusion for the screen sector. From her formative years as a cinephile in the era of the VHS to DVD transition, Irene Silvera Frischknecht’s passion for film has been unwavering. Her journey took her from her hometown in the Canary Islands (Spain) to Italy, where she earned a BA in Film Studies at the University of Bologna. She further honed her skills by obtaining a MA in Film Directing at the TAI University School of Arts in Madrid, writing and directing short films and later working on feature films. Her journey continued as she worked at the Lanzarote International Film Festival, the Cork International Film Festival and the Underwire Film Festival. Currently, Irene is a BIFA voter, a role that underscores her active involvement in the film industry, contributing to the recognition of outstanding British independent films.
