MARTIN PALÚCH

Studied at the Film and Television Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava. He is currently working as an independent researcher at the Institute of Theatre and Film Research of The Art Research Centre, Slovak Academy of Sciences in Bratislava. He is the author of numerous articles and studies in the field of film theory and history. Furthermore, he has written a book monograph Perception in the Mirror of Photography and Film (2010) and co-authored a collective monograph The Actor Ivan Palúch (2008). In 2015, he published a comprehensive publication Author’s Documentary Film in Slovakia after 1989 and in 2017 a monograph Censorship and Documentary Film after 1989. The director of the compilation biopic Countdown – The Last Film of Ivan Palúch (2022). He is the Artistic Director of the Art Film Košice International Film Festival.
