The 17th CineFest is going to be held in September, 2021

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic most of the leading international film festivals of 2020 (Cannes, Karlovy Vary, Locarno, Montreal) has been cancelled. Hungarian and international film projects have came to a stop and the film releases were rescheduled. Therefore the organizers of the CineFest were forced to make the hard decision to postpone the 17th CineFest Miskolc International Film Festival to 10-18 September, 2021.
The decision was also influenced by the travel restrictions, i.e. the Festival cannot invite international filmmakers and guests. Although the CineFest in its traditional form will not be organized this September, the organizers are doing their bests not to leave the audience, film lovers and Miskolc without films in September. They are working hard on putting together a CineFest Special program. More information on this event is coming soon.
In the coming weeks the festival team will contact the creators who have submitted entries for the festival so far.
